Drills

16 soccer drills across three training categories, each with automatic rep counting and timed countdowns. Free accounts get 5 drills — upgrade to unlock all 14.

Micro-Touch Protocols

High-frequency, near-stationary drills that train the neuromuscular coordination underpinning close control. Ball stays tight — cadence and rhythm are everything.

Toe Taps

30 sFree

Alternate feet tapping the top of a stationary ball as fast as possible. Each foot switch = 1 rep. Ball stays roughly in place.

Trains bilateral foot speed and the rapid alternating-contact rhythm that is foundational to close control under pressure.

Bronze:12
Silver:24
Gold:48

Boxing the Ball

30 sFree

Tap the ball back and forth between your feet using the inside of each foot. Right foot taps left, left foot taps right, as fast as possible. Each individual touch = 1 rep.

Develops explosive inside-foot reaction speed — the foundation of tight close control in compact spaces under defensive pressure.

Bronze:24
Silver:39
Gold:78

Inside-Outside

30 s

Push the ball with the outside of your foot past one line, then pull it back with the inside past the other. Alternating foot each rep.

Builds unilateral ankle flexibility and hip-driven weight transfer — the mechanics behind quick lateral evasion.

Bronze:10
Silver:16
Gold:32

Sole Roll

30 sFree

Roll the ball forward past the top line using the sole of the foot, then drag it back past the bottom line. One forward + back = 1 rep.

Sharpens the sole-drag technique used to shift the ball across the body's midline, developing bilateral foot coordination.

Bronze:5
Silver:9
Gold:18

Lateral Sole Roll

30 s

Roll the ball sideways across the body's midline using the sole of one foot, catching it with the opposite foot and rolling it back. Each crossing = 1 rep.

Sharpens bilateral sole-drag mechanics, training each foot independently to drag and receive across the body's midline.

Bronze:12
Silver:22
Gold:44

Sole Roll 60

60 s

Endurance variant of Sole Roll. Slightly lower per-second pace expectation to account for fatigue over the full 60 seconds.

Tests whether your sole roll rhythm holds under fatigue — consistency at the 60-second mark separates trained players.

Bronze:8
Silver:16
Gold:32

Pull Back

30 s

Drag the ball back past the bottom line with the sole, then push it forward past the top line with the laces or instep. Each cycle = 1 rep.

Develops the pull-push movement pattern used to explode away from a closing defender.

Bronze:5
Silver:9
Gold:18

Dribbling & Directional Control

Lateral and directional drills that develop the ability to move the ball at pace, change angles sharply, and maintain possession under spatial pressure.

Lateral Dribble

30 s

Dribble the ball back and forth between two wide markers using alternating feet. Each time the ball crosses a line counts as one rep.

Builds fundamental dribbling rhythm and bilateral foot comfort over a wider range of lateral motion.

Bronze:12
Silver:20
Gold:40

Inside Touch

30 sFree

Quick lateral dribble with tight markers, using inside-of-foot touches only. Higher pace expectation than Lateral Dribble due to shorter distance.

Sharpens inside-of-foot precision at pace — the primary contact surface for tight ball retention while moving.

Bronze:19
Silver:31
Gold:62

Outside Touch

30 s

Lateral dribble using only the outside of each foot. Left foot pushes ball left; right foot pushes ball right. Clean technique is key.

Develops outside-foot control — typically the weaker contact surface — improving overall directional versatility.

Bronze:14
Silver:23
Gold:46

Long Dribble

60 s

Wide lateral dribble with markers at the edges of the frame. An endurance variant — wider spacing demands more chase and push over 60 seconds.

Tests whether your control radius holds under fatigue — how well you maintain possession while pushing hard over distance.

Bronze:14
Silver:24
Gold:46

L Cut

30 s

Drag ball back with the sole past the bottom line, then redirect it sideways with the inside of the foot. Return to start zone to complete one rep.

The L-drag behind the standing leg is the core of the Cruyff Turn — a decisive directional change that commits a defender.

Bronze:2
Silver:5
Gold:10

V-Cut

30 s

Drag the ball backward past the bottom line using the sole at a 45-degree angle, then push it explosively forward and outward past the left or right line using the instep. Return to start zone = 1 rep.

The quintessential evasion move — a sharp 45–90° direction change that leaves no time for a defender to react. Rounded trajectories indicate incomplete execution.

Bronze:3
Silver:7
Gold:14

Figure 8

30 s

Dribble the ball in a figure-8 pattern around two cones placed at the guide lines. Each complete loop through center counts as one rep.

Measures bilateral foot symmetry — whether your weak foot matches your strong foot through a continuous non-linear pattern.

Bronze:5
Silver:8
Gold:16

Aerial Coordination

Off-the-ground touch drills that build 3D spatial awareness, dynamic balance, and full-body kinetic control.

Juggling

FreeformFree

Keep the ball in the air using feet, knees, and head. Score is your longest unbroken run of touches in the session. Beat your streak!

Develops aerial touch sensitivity, dynamic balance, and full-body coordination through sequential off-ground contacts.

Bronze:5
Silver:15
Gold:30

Juggling Challenge

60 s

Same as Juggling but with a 60-second countdown. Your best streak within the window is your score. How high can you go under pressure?

Tests aerial consistency under time pressure — your peak control ability when the clock is counting down.

Bronze:10
Silver:25
Gold:50

Badge thresholds are 30-second reference values. Rep-based drills scale proportionally for longer durations. Juggling thresholds are absolute (streak, not time-scaled).

Badge System

Three tiers. Real thresholds. Earned, not given.

Bronze

Beginner milestone — shows you've got the fundamentals down and can complete a drill with decent volume.

Silver

Intermediate threshold — you're training consistently and pushing toward competitive rep rates.

Gold

High-performance standard — roughly double the silver bar. Gold means you've put in serious work.

High Scores

Your personal best, automatically tracked.

Every session is saved with your rep count, max streak, and duration. TouchIQ highlights your personal best for each drill so you always know the number to beat. Session history is stored locally and synced to your account when signed in.

Session Replay Videos

Watch your technique back.

TouchIQ records your drill sessions so you can review your movement after each rep. Watch replays at full speed or frame by frame — identify habits, spot errors, and see your improvement over time.
